  1. No the programing language is what makes the game harder or easier to make. The amount of visual affect and action makes designing games harder. The more visuals and affect, the harder to write the game.
  2. No , it is because the xbox 360 discs are hd and the xbox 360 are hi def and it also has a hi def dvd player. Also xbox 360 discs are different types of discs so thats why it is more expensive than pc games. And Console discs or games are easier to make than pc discs or games
  3. PC games come in a wider range because essentially the main parts used to power the games have been around. Second, because PC's aren't set in power designers tend to scale them down so that nearly everyone can play them, make the best and widest attempt to capture consumers dollars. A third is that there are more tools and they are more widely available. Lastly, the market on the PC is different from other consoles. Chances are your game will get overlooked and become a loss or not gain what it would have if it had been on a console making it less likely for developers to want to take a leap and try out a new IP unless they think it will be worth porting incase it flops.
  4. Well, yes and no. The applications for creating PC games such as Visual Basic and C++ have, more the most part, remained unchanged for many years, so in a sense it's cheaper and faster to create games for the PC because more people know the programming language. Since console games require unique programming languages, you will have to first train programmers in that language before you can even begin making the game itself, so the process takes longer and thus costs more money. It's one of the reasons why PS3 games take so much longer to make then 360 games, since the coding for the 360 is Windows-based and thus is easier to learn, whereas the PS3 games utilize a unique programming language of its own.
  5. At its core, consoles are easier to program for (or at least used to be before the 360 and PS3), because each system only has one possible hardware configuration. This means there is no such thing as a hardware compatibility issue not getting tested. PCs make up some of that with widely available (and much cheaper) programming tools, as well as DirectX. The main reason console games are more expensive is because PC gaming is in a lull right now, while console gaming is on the rise. This made companies look for any reason to charge extra on consoles, and the HD graphics of the 360 and PS3 worked. In actuality, companies have been looking for reasons to do this for ages, in order to recoup the costs of licensing on consoles, but couldn't find one.
