Playstation 3?
Can you play playstation 2 games on playstation 3? Because I'm thinking of getting one and also want a rating of how good playstation 3's are?

- Yes, you can, you can even make an internal memory card on your ps3 for storage of your ps2 games.
- Well yes but not all models. The 40GB model can't play any ps2 games at all but the 80GB can and the hard to find 60GB and 20GB can as well. IF you give me best answer I'll be ur bff!!!!!!

- Yes you can play ps2 games on the ps3 but only on the certain models. Only the 40,60 and 80 gb can play ps2 games. But 60 gb has better backwards compatibility towards the ps3. and the ratings of ps3 right now aren't so great but later on this year all the great games will start coming out and playstation home hopefully is supposed to debut this year. btw they stopped making 60 gb in case you're wondering. you can only get them refurbished at gamestop or a new one on ebay.
- The 60GB and 20GB had almost full backwards compatibility. Of the current versions (40GB and 80GB), the 80GB PS3 is the only one to support backwards compatibility (it is limited and does not play the games at proper framerates). The 20GB and 60GB had the EE and GS from the PS2 while the 80GB only has the GS and the 40GB has no PS2 hardware at all. The new PS3 will also have no backwards compatibility and will take the place of the 80GB.

- Yes you can. You just need to update your PS3 to the latest (or the 2nd earliest version). Go to Settings, System update.... I play my PS2 games on my PS3 and they work very well. The PS3 is fabulous. It is a MediaManager: You can store all your music, videos and photos on it. Not to mention that it has 8 core processors!
