What is the point of connecting a Nintendo Wii and DS?
Thanks to all who answered my last question today. Heres my next one: What is the point of connecting a Nintendo Wii and DS? There is probably a simple answer to this. Can you use the DS as a controller? Does it provide extra features? Transfer Saves / Games?

- Right now, the DS can only be used a secondary controller for Pokémon Battle Revolution. But, Nintendo has made announcements of two things - more DS/Wii interplay (like Pokémon) and a DS channel. Eventually Nintendo, and other companies will make games which use the DS as a secondary controller or for extra features of similar games (like what was done for Metriod Prime and Metriod Fusion on Gamecube and GBA). I could see a game like the Sims do something like this, or maybe a football game, allowing you to plan plays on the DS and execute them on the Wii. Galaxy Wars is being developed for both the DS and Wii, so maybe some interconnetion may pop up. The DS channel will (likely) act as a DS download station, similar to what is at stores. It'll be a preview of a game you can download to see if a game is appealing. Many game makers want this channel since it is essentially easy to make and acts as free advertising. Soon, Nintendo will (according to past announcements) make more connection. Just haver to hope they fullfill that promise.
- Now it can only be used to transfer pokemons fron Diamon or pearl versions to pokemon battle revolution and like another controler
