- The bigger the number the more memory... If you get the lowest one you can't play ps2 games on it.. x
- They are all the same, just different mass storage, and the 20 and 40 GB ones do not play PS2/PS1 games, which I am DEFINITELY sure that you dont need those old games, they are history. As for the packages might sometimes differ in some countries, like getting 2 controllers or one or something, but there is no problem with that. People are getting the 60 GB for more space, PS2/PS1 games, and it has a nice chrome touch on it.
- There are some key differences with the cheaper 40GB model than the 60GB or 80GB model. First difference, the 40GB model has no backward compatibility, it will not play PS2 games at all. The 60GB version, has hardware backward compatibility using the emotion engine chip (used in the original PS2). The 80GB model uses software emulation for it's backward compatibility. 40GB version only has 2 USB ports, both the 60GB and 80GB versions have 4 USB ports. All of the systems, have built-in blu-ray, wi-fi, bluetooth, and the ability to increase the hard drive with a standard laptop hard drive.
- The 20, 60, and 80 gb versions can play PS2 games. The 20 and 60 gb version has the emotion engine, which was the cpu used to run PS2 games, so for the most part, the 20 and 60 gb version can play almost all PS2 games. The 80 gb version uses software emulation to play PS2 games, and as we all know from the 360, software emulation isn't all that great when it comes to backward compatibility. So the 80 gb will have some problems playing some PS2 games. The 40, 60, and 80 gb version both have Wi-Fi out of the box, while the 20 gb doesn't have Wi-Fi. The 60 and 80 gb version have flash drives, while the 20 and 40 gb version doesn't have flash drives. The 20, 60, and 80 gb version have 4 USB slots, while the 40 gb version only has 2 USB slots.
