playstation 3?
I don't have a playstation 3 but i have played one all night at my friends house one day on a regular tv and the graphics were insane. but i have heard that if it isn't on an hdtv then the graphics will be sloppy and unclear. is it true or not.i have just a regular tv but might get an hdtv when i get the ps3.so when i get it and play it on regular tv will it be that way or like it was at my friends houe onhis regular tv-crazy graphics?? and every time i read stuff about the ps3 and hdtv's i see 1080pi. what does 1080pi mean?? please answer at least one of the questions very well and get 12 points!!

- The graphics will undoubtedly be much clearer and better on an HDTV, so I recommend that you also get an HDTV along with your PS3 if you really want AWESOME graphics. However, the graphics will still be pretty sweet even on a normal tv, but you just will not be using the PS3 to its full potential. RATE ME BEST ANSWER, BECAUSE I ANSWERED VERY WELL AND I AM FIRST.
- I think its just a number well I think.
- Speaking from experience yes the graphics are far more better on HD rather than a regular tv. but wouldnt you rather have your system with HD anyway? 1080 is the amount of lines of resolution on a tv. therefore giving you smaller pixels and a clearer image. 1080i has interlaced lines. and 1080p plays all lines at the same time. but those dont matter if you dont get a HDTV.
- yeah it's kinda true. the graphics wont look as good as they would on an HDTV. they'd be more pixelated meaning you can see the pixels like in ps2--but not as bad as the ps2--and with that, the 1080pi means the systems pixel resolution. you'd have to get a hd cable which is like $100 to make it look spectacular--you'd have to buy the hd cable because it doesn't come with the ps3.
- The graphics should be the same. i have a ps3 and play it on a regular tv. it is sooooooo cool! 1080i is the screen size it supports. in other words the ps3 supports the highest HD avalible! PS3 rules!!!!
- I have a ps3 with an hdtv. the difference is incredible once you hook it up with an hdmi cable or component cables. I currently have it hooked up via component cables which provide 1080i. 1080i is the second highest you can get hd. There is 1080i or 1080p. 1080i means 1080 lines scanned at interface. Where 1080p is 1080 lines progressively scanned continously. There is no real difference except it being a mental thing. I couldnt tell the difference.
