Playstation 3?

I am going to the USA next month and I have enough money to buy a Playstation 3 ( and tax etc...). I would like to know when i bring it back to the United Kingdom, will it work and I be able to play it? Even though the USA use NTSC and Britain use PAL?

  1. I think it should do, i dont see why not ......
  2. no
  3. The main thing is that the Voltage in the US is 110 and in the UK it's 220 - 240 so you'll need a converter at least. I was also told that that games are different on either side of the Atlantic but you'll have to check that one.
  4. Im not sure why but I definately no thats its impossible to bring them back to the UK!
  5. No it won't work, the games sold here are PAL and won't run on an NTSC PS3, also the picture qualty won't be great on a PAL TV which we have over here unless you've got a TV with NTSC compatibility so i owuldn't do it.
  6. Yeah, you'll have a problem not just with the NTSC/PAL deal, but there's also the voltage difference between USA and UK. Just wait until the European launch.
  7. I beleive the PS3 is region free, So It should workjust fine.
  8. Yes what southern dandy said, you cant bring them back into the Uk, my friend before the 360 was out went to US and bought one but they wouldnt let it through customs, so he had to get a refund.
  9. it wont work
  10. definatly not it's not just the pal and ntsc battle its regions they're a different region to us and dvd's won't work over here on your machine sorry but youll just have to wait until the europe launch :(
  11. IT WILL WORK!! PS3 is region free, that's why people in the U.S can play japanese games. but why don't u just wait 3 more weeks when it comes out in europe. it comes with the new JAMES BOND blu-ray dvd movie for free
  12. no, it wont work for many reasons, wait for the 23rd of march , id advise a xbox360 No one has come close to unlocking the potential of either console, On paper the PS3 is way more powerful (7 Proccessors!!!), i guess it would be alot more stable too. 13. You'll regret getting an american PS3. Wait and get a european one. It'll save you a whole lot of messing about.
  14. i know this website that shows you a lot of info on the ps3. it also tells you where they are available in your area and when they will be in stock. i found this website to be very helpful. http://www.linkachi.com/?454
  15. i should think that you will be able to use it over here but i think that you will have to have your games come from america. if i was you i would just wait a few more weeks and get one over here if you want one that bad. personally i would have the xbox360 as it is the better consol
