I want to get my Son the Xbox 360 for xmas but there is another one which is the Xbox 360 Elite? Can anyone tell me which is the best?? My son is 18 yrs

Elite is black, has a bigger hard disk and a HDMI socket. If your TV has HDMI, get an Elite. If not, just get the white one.

The XBOX 360 Elite is black in colour - has a 120GB hard drive as standard and has been modified to reduce the overheating and noise issues experienced in the original XBOX 360. It also comes with an HDMI cable for Full HD gaming and multimedia streaming. The better buy is the Elite.
Elite. It's more expensive obviously, but its black, has a much, much bigger hard drive, and has HDMI video. Your son will thank you.
the elite has a bigger hard drive and looks better in black the new premium consoles have a HDMI port too. both consoles have a HDMI port and a normal port so it doesnt matter if your tv doesnt have a HDMI input. you get a HDMI lead with the elite but you dont get a lead with the premium. the elite cant play HD DVD's. the HD DVD drive is an add on that costs about £115.
id go for the elite as it has bigger memory space and jus the better xbox. hav you any idea on games for him? if not i can advise you on some as my bf is the same ages and has an xbox.
the elite can play HD dvd, So if you like to watch alot of movie and want to start getting a HD collection then get that one also the hard drive is bigger. if your planning to just play games and the normal one witht he harddrive is fine.
Get an Elite or Premium, the Core one isn't worth buying cos you need to buy lots of upgrades for it. Strictly speaking the Elite is better, but if he is not bothered about being able to play his games in true high definition and things like that go for the cheaper option which is the Premium.
I'd go for the premium or pro, most of the premium & pro consoles are now made with the new technolagy which is supposed to stop the overheating. The elite is just black, with a HDMI port & a bigger HDD. The bigger HDD is not really needed as the 360 will stream music & videos from your home network (if you get the wireless adapter which you need for xbox live anyway) so you don't need the storage space. The HDMI port does depend what telly you have but I personaly don't think it'w worth the extra. The colour - well thats up to you if you think it's worth £100 extra for a black console! I'd get a pro\premium and if you have some money spare get a wireless adapter for it so it's ready for hooking up to your network (assuming you have wireless of course) and ready for live.

yes the elite is beter but i would just buy a ps3 from personal experience only
Elites are great if you are planning to:- 1. Store allot of stuff like music and movies on your machine as it has a huge 120G hard drive. 2. If you have a TV that supports HDMI (Super HDTV). I have the premium 360 with the 20G hard drive and as it is just used as a games machine and my TV is not even HD ready it suits me fine. If you don't need or have either of the above then get the premium and spend the the saved cash on extra games :)
